BYLAWS AND POLICY
The Bylaws and Policy function enables the corporation to meet the needs of members and the Board to carry out the established functions by monitoring and developing bylaws and policies for Board and/or membership approval; ensuring that practices reflect policy; and monitoring meetings for efficient operation.

BUDGET AND FINANCE
The Budget and Finance function provides member oversight of all fiscal operations by developing and recommending fiscal policy; proposing budgets to carry out the functions of the corporation; and monitoring all fiscal operations.

The Communication function fosters the dissemination and exchange of ideas and information among members and to others by promoting networking; advocating the corporation and its activities to the global community; and encouraging and supporting the free exchange of ideas.

The Corporation Management function is comprised of services which provide support for the membership and leadership of the corporation, and which maintain the historical record of the corporation.
The Grants/Awards function recognizes the outstanding contributions of individual members and others, and exemplary programs; encourages attendance at professional growth activities; provides support for Illinois school library media centers which have experienced disasters and facilitates collections for disaster aid in other states.
READERS' CHOICE FUNCTION REPRESENTATIVE
The Legislation function monitors state and federal legislative activities that may impact school library media programs; informs corporation members of their significance; and recommends actions that the corporation may legally take or which individual members may choose to take.

The Membership function promotes the achievements of members; works to obtain new members; insures renewal of current memberships; and encourages those whose memberships have lapsed to become members again.

LICENSE RENEWAL MANAGER
The Standards Development function promotes the importance of state and national school library standards and guidelines in relationship to state and national content standards; and participates in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of standards for school library programs and for the certification of school library media professionals.
