Most of the work of the Reader Panel is done by email. The only meeting you will attend is the spring selection meeting mentioned above. As a Student Reader, you will be required to read 10 assigned titles, plus other nominated titles as time permits, and evaluate them. You will also need to read reviews (provided for you) of all 75 semifinal nominated titles for the Abe Award. You will receive your assigned titles, the complete list of 75, and the reviews late November or early December, and will have until the Feb. or March selection meeting to complete your reading/evaluations. At the meeting you will participate with the adult and other student members of the Reader Panel in choosing the 22 final nominees for the next year’s Abe Award.
